"He that is good at making excuses is seldom good at anything else." - B. Franklin

The major purpose of this website is to guide you through the process of learning science and to teach you to think like a scientist using:
- logic;
- trial and error;
- intuition;
- patience.
You will learn scientific principles, that are being applied by scientists to meet our need for food, clothing, building materials, medicines, and many other essentials.

A scientist is used to being wrong. The important thing is to learn from a mistake, recheck assumptions, and try again.

Many of you do not plan to be practicing scientists. However, the problem solving is important in all professions and in all walks of life.

Learning science encompasses much more than simply memorizing facts. It requires working the end-of-chapter/section exercises.
Student's main goal should not be to simply get the correct answer but to understand the process of getting the answer. Memorizing the solutions for specific problems is not a very good way to prepare for an exam.
Truly educated people use their knowledge as a starting point - a base for creative approaches to solving problems.

Be patient and thoughtful and work hard to understand rather than simply memorize. Have an interesting and satisfying year!
